Here are some of the most commonly asked questions that we receive.
1. Why should I purchase a Brescot dog ?
We have 15 years of experience breeding dogs. Our Rottweilers have excellent hip and elbow scores. Both breeds have excellent temperaments.
Some breeders will sell dogs that have poor hip scores or other genetic problems. Whilst dogs with hip displasia may not suffer when they are young (because their bodies are resilient), when these dogs mature, their mobility will be affected and it may result in you having to make a decision to have your dog put to sleep at a time in their life when they may provide the most companionship and most loyalty.
Our dogs are well proven at shows around Australia and are highly sought after by other breeders and those who have purchased from us before due to the fact that we breed our dogs for the purpose of improving each breed to minimise genetic problems.
2. What lines are our Dogs ?
Our Rottweilers are from English and German blood lines.
Our Westies are from English and Scottish blood lines.
3. Are They Good With Children ?
Our Rotties and our Westies are often sold to homes with children. Our dogs have excellent temperaments and get on well with children. It is prudent however to supervise any breed of dog with small children. Accordingly, we recommend supervision.
4. Are Two Dogs Better Than One ?
If you dog will be home alone often, we consider that your dog will be happier with a companion.
5. What sort of Coat do the Westies have ?
The Westies have a harsh wiry coat. They do not drop hair so they are good for people who suffer allergies.
6. Does Brescot Dock Tails
Tail Docking is illegal in most if not all states in Australia save for very limited circumstances in which the tail may need to be docked for therapeutic purposes in which case the operation must be performed by a vet. Accordingly, Brescot Kennels does not dock tails.
